Hello–I’m Elora~ I’m a lesbian lady author who happens to be addicted to tea (not that you could tell from reading any of my novels, surely), has pink hair, lots of tattoos and a very silly sense of humor.
I write magical lesbian romance, fantasy and fairy tale retellings, and am most well known for my Sappho’s Fables series: fairy tales retold from a lesbian perspective~
I am madly in love with the most beautiful and amazing woman in the world, Jennifer Diemer, who also just happens to be a phenomenal author. <3 We were legally married on September 30, 2011 in the beautiful, finally-equality-conscious state of NY. <3
I have the extreme good fortune to be able to do what I love–writing books about magical queer women–for a living. This is due, entirely, to the people who believe in lesbian literature purchasing my books, which therefore supports me, and the ability to keep telling these stories. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. <3

When not writing, I can often be found in graveyards (I’m obsessed with grave symbolism and cemeteries in general–some people find that odd, but they don’t know that within every grave are countless stories, within every name on a headstone, an amazing life and history) or the wilds and woods. I was homeschooled my entire life, and ran amuck on my parents’ farm and forest like a wild girl every day. I have never outgrown this.
Some of my favorite things are LUSH baths, multiple cups of genmeicha tea cooling on my childhood writing desk, wandering the dusty halls of thrift stores and used bookstores and antique shops with my wife while we try to find old pictures and art of two women together in love (there are a surprising number of them <3 Jenn and I have a big collection of Godey prints–HOW ARE THOSE NOT LESBIAN?), the roar and crash of the ocean at unrest and a walk at night beneath the uncountable number of stars.
I’m a witch and a Pagan and put a little bit of magic and witchery into everything I write. <3
My favorite authors are Jennifer Diemer, Isabel Miller, Terry Pratchett, Madeleine L’Engle, Tamora Pierce, Neil Gaiman, Gael Baudino and C.S. Lewis (fact: he claimed, over and over, that the Chronicles of Narnia wasn’t Christian allegory). I’m often reading or knitting or chewing on the end of my pen, old fashioned notebook in my lap as I painstakingly write down my thoughts on my next project longhand, because I’m weird. Mostly, I write, lost for hours every single day in the stories I love with my whole heart to tell.
